Up A Tree Arborist Services is now offering a new service-Air Spade
The Air Spade is a tool that uses supersonic compressed air to perform the following:
- Root collar excavation -used to examine the structured integrity of a tree roots system and root ball
- Plant aeration and soil compaction relief; also amending the soil with compost to improve the health of stressed trees.
- Bare-rooting and transplanting small to medium sized trees (up to 4" trunks)
- For new construction or remodels:
- locating roots to lessen construction impact.
- root pruning to reduce impact to tree health
- tunneling under roots, for running utilities through root zone, to
reduce damage of cutting tree roots.
The health and structure of the tree underground is often ignored when it comes to tree care. The root system of a tree is just as important to the overall well being of the tree as the stems and leaves above ground. Because a trees root system and the soil around it is not easily investigated, these aspects of tree health are often overlooked and not addressed by the arborist.
